We stayed here for two nights in October and absolutely adored it! The place was so cozy, warm and welcoming and the hosts went soooo far out of their way to make us happy. Highly recommend – You’ll meet the coolest and kindest family ever 🙂
Super inn. Very comfortable. The innkeepers are outstanding people, making you feel welcome, giving advice about places to go. And literary conversation!!! The best!!! Stayed for a weekend and absolutely will be returning in the future. Really appreciated all the kindness and warmth, great value as well.
The kids were smart and engaging, and breakfast was wonderful. I’ve heard about Annie’s writing workshops, but her interior decorating is pretty spectacular too! A must see in the Midcoast.
A beautiful location and a wonderful host family. We had such a lovely time staying at this bed and breakfast. Annie and Jason and their kids are the best. Super helpful. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Impeccably decorated. A cool historical home in a quintessential Maine fishing village. And the breakfast is delish! We’ll be coming back for sure!
My husband and I had a very lovely time at Bird’s Nest Bed and Breakfast. The young couple that runs it have put in a lot of their hearts into renovating it so it’s a beautiful, comfortable space. They are very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious coffee and breakfast. Friendship, a town of lobstermen and artists, is a big off the beaten path, which was great for our needs and desires. Make sure you go to the town wharf, a working waterfront, to see the lobster boats and the views. In brief, this was a great place. We plan on coming back!!
Charlotte Annie is a beautiful writer who offers insightful feedback! Highly recommend her workshops!
We were visiting friends who live in Friendship Maine. The Bird’s Nest Bed & Breakfast was the perfect location and a great historic home. We stayed in the main house and enjoyed the comfort to come and go. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful and they were happy to accommodate any requests. The owners are fantastic so make sure you spend some time getting aquatinted.
Everything was great. Clean and comfortable. Love the children, they were so entertaining. Will definitely stay again. Bonus, breakfast was soooo good.
Jason and Annie are wonderful hosts….they were flexible with arrival and departure times and made amazing breakfasts for our family of 12! Do not be fooled by the exterior condition of the house which is somewhat worn…the inside is impeccably decorated and cared for. A house tour is worth it just to see how they’ve decorated…it’s beautiful! It’s difficult to find rentals for less than a week in the area and this is perfect. Also fit our whole family in the four bedrooms and cottage. 100% recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Wonderful stay at the Bird’s Nest Bed & Breakfast and the hosts are fantastic.
Wonderful B&B ! Tastefully renovated. Friendly and accommodating owners, the cutest kids. Want to come back and stay a few days.
This is what a B&B should be! A cozy bed in a quaint room, with a fantastic hosst, it’s the perfect getaway to coastal Maine. We’ve stayed here 2 years in a row and are excited to return again.Jason prepares a wonderful, hot breakfast and is very accommodating of all allergies and preferences. The rooms are beautiful and a perfect place to relax after a busy day of sampling oysters! 6/5 stars!
Jason and Annie are so welcoming and have created a very special home away from home atmosphere for their guests!
Friendship Maine is one of the most beautiful places anywhere. The walk down Martin Point Road (or you can bike) is stunning. They have a very successful Ocean Kayak Rental Program. The owners are both young professionals who are well educated. It is a beautiful spot with a great “Country Market” Wallace’s just a two-minute walk away. Friendship Harbor has about 40 lobstermen working out of the protected spot. This is the real Maine. Not like Boothbay or Camden which are jammed with tourists. This is authentic – real -rugged coast of Maine.
My husband and I stayed here for our 18th wedding anniversary. Annie & Jason were perfect hosts who provided a quiet atmosphere with thoughtful touches. Friendship, Maine is the real-deal, a quaint, working coastal community. We highly recommend a stay at the Bird’s Nest. Enjoy!

- Family-friendly
- Thoughtful amenities.
We certainly enjoyed our overnight; Jason and Annie very hospitable; and we loved Alice and Wendell. looking forward to another visit.
Quaint little B&B in a quiet, not touristy spot on the coast. A hidden treasure. The rooms are lovely, the hosts are friendly, kind and accommodating. Looking forward to returning for a longer stay.
My 4 night stay at The Bird’s Nest B&B was so relaxing and comfortable and quiet and clean and friendly. I enjoyed delicious and hot breakfasts and the coffee tasted amazing! I highly recommend staying at The Bird’s Nest! I hope to return to lovely Friendship Maine in the Fall. Thank you!
Excellent stay, perfect bed, great bath products, great breakfast, very nice space (Wendall Berry cottage)
Cozy and comfortable, like walking into my own home! Owners were very friendly.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time with you! Sadly it was just too short, but we’ll make up for that next time. Thanks again!
The best place to stay in Friendship. It’s a sweet old house and Jason cooks a delicious breakfast.
While I didn’t actually get the pleasure of staying at the Inn (I made reservations, but unfortunately my dog decided that a trip to the emergency vet would be a better use of my time), I did have the pleasure of communicating with Annie & Jason. They both were very prompt in accepting my reservation, and also SO kind in not charging me for my room even though I cancelled the day of my reservation. If a night’s stay is as wonderful as their customer service is, then they are running an incredible business. I will absolutely be staying there the next time work takes me to the area!
Really fun clean place and the owners are really nice
Jason was super friendly and easy to work with. We had a great time renting kayaks for 5 days. He met us on the dock for pick up and drop off!
We enjoyed our stay. Hope to visit again.
Great hosts!
We stayed at the Birds Nest on the weekend after July 4th and had a great stay. The owners are a lovely young family, very personable and welcoming. We stayed in the cottage which has A/C. The queen Bed was very comfortable with comfy sheets and blankets. We didn’t use the Twin. The cottage was decorated with local art in a funky fun theme. The towels were plush and all organic soaps, etc, even sun screen, which was a nice touch. Breakfast each morning int the main house was delicious and satisfying and they accommodated my gluten free diet easily. We had friends staying in the main house so we gathered in the common rooms which were comfortable and nicely decorated with original art by local artists. There’s lots to see and do nearby. A great lobster place down the road for example. Great views from the small harbor with in walking distance, and Rockland is just a short drive away. On our last day we made a very last minute decision to rent kayaks from the Birds Nest to paddle around the bay. The owner delivered the kayaks to the beach for us and told us where to leave them when we were done. It was a beautiful day to be on the water! We definitely will return.
